The piped town gas provided by City Gas is safe. Piped town gas, which is primarily hydrogen gas, is lighter than air therefore it easily dissipates into the atmosphere in the event of a gas leak, as long as there is good ventilation in the home.

Gas water heaters are very compact and can be installed in the kitchen or service balcony. The gas water heater serves as a central heater as hot water supply can be piped from the heater to multiple points in your house.
Gas water heaters are easy to use. As you turn on the hot water tap, the gas water heater senses the water flow and ignites the burner in the heater to give you hot water. The gas supply will be automatically cut off when the hot water tap is turned off.
The hot water temperature can be adjusted with the front panel control on the water heater, or by using the hot and cold water mixer tap.
Yes, the fully computerised control panel offers one-touch operation with programmes to suit different fabrics.
Yes. Gas clothes dryers have a built-in sensor that can detect if there is a failure to ignite a flame and reacts by cutting off the gas supply immediately.
The gas clothes dryer is installed in well-ventilated areas such as the kitchen and service balcony. As it comes with a wall-mount rack, it can be stacked above the washing machine thus saving precious floor space. Please contact our hotline for a site survey prior to installation.
The standard installation fees for the gas clothes dryer in HDB flats can be found here. For private housing, a no-obligation site visit can be carried out upon request, after which a quotation will be provided.

The charges imposed to turn on or terminate your gas supply is necessary for City Gas to recover the labour and transport costs incurred for the works carried out by City Gas’ officers or contractors at your premises.
The existing internal gas pipe installation is tested to ensure the installation is leak-free. The gas meter is then installed and the gas supply to the premises is turned on. The gas cooker will also be operated to confirm that it has a good burning flame.
The gas supply is isolated via the removal of the gas meter, after which the ends of the pipe will be plugged off to terminate the gas supply.
No. The gas supply turn-on is included in the standard gas pipe installation or gas cooker connection fees.
The gas supply turn-on fee will be imposed when the gas supply is requested for units that have pre-existing gas installation done. Eg condominium units with cooker hob connected.
Kindly refer to the Rates and Charges here.
Yes, the standard charge for the temporary termination of gas supply can be found here. When carrying out renovation works within your premises, please ensure that the gas supply has been temporarily terminated and the gas meter is removed for safety reasons.
