CITY GAS Joins in the Celebration of Singapore
Food Festival 2005
Singapore, 1 July 2005 - City Gas Pte Ltd is pleased to be "The Official
Town Gas Provider" for the upcoming 12th Singapore Food Festival 2005.
City Gas has been playing an essential and integral role in the modern Singaporean
lifestyle for more than a century. Formerly, it was a division under the umbrella
of PUB, followed by Singapore Power and was privatized and known as City Gas
Pte Ltd some 3 years ago in 2002. To-date, more than 85% of HDB households,
many private apartments, condominiums, landed properties and thousands of restaurants,
food centres, hotels and industries rely on City Gas for their energy needs.
Food and dining have often been cited as one of the best way of bonding relationships
and as an ice-breaker for any meetings among associates or new business partners.
Through this participation, City Gas hopes to be able to articulate its roles
of providing Continuous, Safe, Reliable, Convenient, Hygienic and Economical
town gas to one and all in Singapore.

About City Gas Pte Ltd
City Gas Pte Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Temasek Holdings, was formed
as a divested entity from PowerGas Ltd on 2 January 2002 to take over the production
and retail of town gas.
City Gas has a long-standing and proud heritage of supplying
town gas island-wide in Singapore. It was first made available in 1862, when
PowerGas’ predecessor,
the Singapore Gas Company, was formed to provide gas street lighting for the
then growing town.
To-date, City Gas plays a vital role in the modern homes
