City Gas Singapore Young Chefs Challenge 2014

City Gas is proud to support young chefs!

 155

Teaming up with Singapore Chefs Association & Singapore Junior Chefs Club, City Gas spearheaded the very first City Gas Singapore Young Chefs Challenge, providing a platform for aspiring chefs from the tender age of 16 to 25 years old to demonstrate their culinary skills & to showcase their creativity in the creation of new dishes.

On the early morning of 2 August, 6 teams of talented young chefs-in-the-making busied themselves in the kitchen of Shatec Institutes. The competitors came from culinary institutes Shatec Institutes, Temasek Polytechnic, Nanyang Polytechnic, as well as APSN Delta Senior School. In line with the upcoming SG50 celebrations, the young chefs were tasked to create a unique line of tapas revolving around the theme of Singapore Heritage Food. The entries were judged based on their professional skills, authenticity of the dish, integration of the uniquely Singaporean heritage elements & the relevance of the display to the City Gas’ brand.

While friends & families looked on from the other side of the glass panel & provided moral support, a flurry of activities took place from inside the kitchen as the teams toiled to create their unique one-of-a-kind dishes.
