City Gas Singapore Chef Awards 2008
Held in conjunction with Singapore Food Festival 2008, City Gas is proud to present the second edition of “City Gas Singapore Chef Awards”, supported by NTUC Fair Price and the Singapore Chef’s Association. This prestigious competition aims to recognise bright and outstanding chefs for creating Uniquely Singapore dishes.
This year, besides the coveted title of the “City Gas Singapore Chef of the Year”, we will also have the “City Gas Singapore Junior Chef of the Year”. The latter award is to recognise chefs who are 23 years old and younger. We will also continue with the Media’s Choice as one of the award categories.
Similar to the previous year’s competition, participants are required to come up with new dishes that can best represent the Singapore flavour and food culture. All recipes must use 2 to 3 ingredients that can be found locally. As an added challenge, participants are strongly encouraged to use ingredients or condiments that are unique and indigenous to the ethnic groups of Singapore.

- Desirable Local Dish of the Year
- Most Creative Dish
- Best Taste
- Best Workmanship
- Media’s Choice – City Gas Singapore Chef of the Year 2008 & City Gas Singapore Junior Chef of the Year 2008
